Convenient and Efficient

We collect blood samples during your pet’s appointment and send them to IDEXX Laboratories, one of Australia’s leading veterinary diagnostic providers. This ensures fast turnaround times and reliable, high-quality results.
Whether your pet is unwell or you’re managing a long-term condition, blood tests help us:

Excessive scratching, licking, or biting

  • Detect underlying issues before symptoms appear

  • Monitor ongoing health conditions such as kidney disease liver problems, diabetes, or thyroid disorders

  • Check organ function prior to procedures or medication

  • Track response to treatment over time

What Can We Test For?

Some of the most common blood tests we request include:

Complete Blood Count (CBC): Assesses red and white blood cells, detecting infections, anaemia or inflammation

Thyroid Function (T4): Especially useful in older cats and dogs

Monitoring Panels: For pets on medications such as anti-epileptics, corticosteroids or anti-inflammatories

Biochemistry Profile: Evaluates organ health (liver, kidney, pancreas), blood sugar, and electrolytes

SDMA: An early marker for kidney disease

If needed, we can also request more specialised tests, such as hormone panels or infectious disease screening.

Calm Care in Familiar Surroundings

Many pets experience anxiety in a clinic setting. With our mobile service, blood tests are done where your pet feels safest—at home. We take a gentle, patient approach to every appointment and use minimal restraint where possible.

When Should My Pet Have Blood Tests?

Routine testing is recommended:

Before starting new medications

During senior wellness checks (typically for pets 7 years and older)
